I don’t want to go the Student Loan route. I’m also looking online for private grants and scholarships. I live in Louisiana and plan to attend school there as well. My intended major is English (focus on creative writing). If anyone knows of any private benefactors or charitable foundations who fund higher education, please let me know. Thank You!
I was attending college fall of 04. I started having alot of problems with my son and his mom at daycare. I stopped going and was not smart enough to withdrawl so i got all F’s. I’ts been 4 years now and i’m totally focused(have my situation under control now)and i want to go back to school. There is really no way i can go back without the financial aid/student loan. I have been attending a community college for two years, this summer of 2010 will be my first summer quarter. I have never gone summer quarter, so I was wondering how that all works with the financial aid, I already get the pell grant and i have a student loan for fall, winter, and spring quarters.
I was told once that if you take out a Private student loan then you lose all of your Federal Financial Aid for School including federal loans. I don’t think this is true though, why would the loans (private) say "to fill the gap between the federal aid and scholarships"???
