Hi, so I’m currently a unemployed full time student who’s taking five classes at a local community college. I live with my parents who make under 32K a year, and I’m just curious as to how much money I should expect to receive from Financial Aid?

I’m 18 going to be 19. I plan on going to college in January 2010. My problem is i want to avoid loans as much as possible. I live on my own pay me own rent, bills, ect. As of now my parents make to much so it will lower my chance of getting money through FASFA, but my parents aren’t helping me with anything so thats why i need help finding free money.
I am attending CSU-Fresno at a freshman and received my financial aid for 0. How much did you guys get for financial aid? I was expecting more. Oh well. Free money is free money. By the way, I work part time 20 hrs a week, am going to live with my parents, they make about 20-25k~ a year, didn’t apply for FAFSA early, and I am the only one in the family attending college at the moment.
you know the free government grants you can get if you request it adn explain why you need the grant. you never have to pay them back. its just free money sitting and waiting to be given away just for the asking. what is the secret to getting those grants because when you go to websites to find out how they always want you to purchase a book explaining how. or is that just part of the scam? does this even exist?
