Does anyone know why I would only receive a portion of my financial aid refund? I had a total awarded of 50.00. My classes cost about 45.00. It only refunded me a little over 0 though. Anyone know why this is? I can’t seem to find anything about it anywhere.

Up until this year, I had signed up for financial aid using my mother’s income which is very low. I’ve gotten a full ride every year and had extra money left over. This year I was able to apply as an independent student, and barely got enough financial aid to cover my tuition. What gives? I called financial aid and they said that was correct. How is this possible when there was more money made between my mom and I in previous years than what I made alone last year? It doesn’t make any sense to me. Now I have to take out hella student loans.

I’m sorry I wasn’t paying much attention when I posted this; I know it is " I want" not " I what"
I always notice online the different sites that offer you free ways to apply for different government grants (First time homebuyers, start business, return to school, etc) but 100% of the time I go to the links, they are all scams. telling you that you need to pay between 70.00 and 170.00. Is there a site in which you can apply for the help, without getting ripped off ?
I was thinking about starting my own small business in Massachusetts.
I was wondering if there was any federal/state funding/grants available for something like this?
It would be a do it yourself dog wash. There are few outside of Boston but none in the city.
Please let me know and provide links/information if you can! Thanks!
If I’m not working and have children, how does financial aid work… do I need good credit or need to be employed? Can anybody tell me the process and when I would have to put the first amount of money down so I can plan for it? Thanks!

I was wondering if there is any organization, company, etc. that gives out grants/scholarships to students doing a service project. I will be going to China for 2 1/2 weeks to work in an orphanage and also take Chinese classes (This is all independently, set up by my Chinese friend that I go to school with). If you could give the links to the websites of the places that would be great.
