I’m considering joining the Army after I finish college. It looks like the G.I. Bill will pay for around K of college loans. Does the military only pay for loans that are in my name, or will they also pay for loans my parents took out to pay for my college education?

I get financial aid and student loans every year for my college education. I recently received a letter saying that if i dont settle my credit card debt, they will put a judgement against me. And they said it will affect my financial aid and student loans..i wanna know if thats true. Will it really effect financial aid, student loans and grants? the debt is about 1500.
I was recently approved for a government grant for my college education. After getting off the phone with the specialist about my grant, I realized that I wanted funding for a used car versus my education since I would need the car to get to school.
If I am actually officially approved for the government grant for my education, but use the money for a down payment for a car instead would I get in some trouble? Would the government track my grant money and realize that I didn’t use it for my education like I proposed? I didn’t lie about it, it’s just that the thought didn’t cross my mind until I already hung up and the company processed my application through some national database. I don’t know if they have grants for buying a car. I’m an idiot, I know.

I’m in college now, and it seems like a doghouse out there. See I go to a community college, and I have been in college for a while since I have been going part time. I am seeing a change in college education. I used to believe that if government gave grants ($you don’t have to pay back) to people who could not afford college then more people would be educated and have more knowledgeable. I feel that i’m wrong now. See when I went to college they were playing loud music and I could not understand the words cause it was in Spanish. People were all over the place yelling and carrying on and dancing to this ethnic music. I thought college was supposed to be for learning and studying, not all this crap. I also think that college may be easier now because it has to be to pass these people and to get more money from the government. Am I right about this? Is our federal government ruining college education?If the government stays out of college education, would it benefit hard working people?
The more college graduates we have, the harder it is to find a job.

im a single underage mother. i dropped out and got my ged to prepare for my son. i want to continue my education so i can support my son. i need infromation on grants and scholarships to pay for my college education. i have applied for fafsa and need more help.
Looking for grant money for college education…particularly if there’s money available for the children of teachers. Otherwise, any grant money (Pell grants, individual college grants, etc.). Thank you.
I am aware of someone who is fraudulently reporting information about her son in order to receive more government assistence for his college education. Is there a way I can report this anonymously.
It really frosts me to see someone take advantage of the system like this since the programs were not designed to be used this way.

Ok, so I have to apply for Financial Aid soon, but here’s the thing. My step-father isn’t paying anything at all for my college education, only my mom is. However, their income tax is filed together, so he makes a lot of money and my mom very little. I don’t know what to do, because I won’t get much financial help if my step-father’s tax reports are in there. Will I get financial aid?
